valentines day nyc 2010

valentines day nyc 2010 Help a Boston guy plan Valentine's Day in NYC?

I moved to NYC from Boston about a month ago. I am going to ask my girlfriend to marry me this coming Valentine's Day - meaning 2010. I'm still fumbling my way around and really need ideas and suggestions for romantic places to dine to the perfect place to get engaged. Also, I want to treat my girlfriend at a really high class hotel - I don't mean Days Inn or even a Hilton or Marriott. I want really, really high end because we're going to remember this weekend for the rest of our lives. All serious suggestions needed and welcomed. Thanks in advance!

Here's an article to help get your started in the right direction. It has restaurant as well as hotel ideas for Valentine's Day in NYC for 2010: http://www.examiner.com/x-21128-Newark-Luxury-Travel-Examiner~y2009m10d9-Its-not-too-early-to-start-planning-your-2010-NYC-Valentines-Day-weekend A hotel not on that list that I favor is Loews Regency Hotel http://www.loewshotels.com/en/Hotels/New-York-City-Hotel/Overview.aspx Another good one not on that list is the Ritz-Carlton Central Park: http://www.ritzcarlton.com/en/Properties/CentralPark/Default.htm For restaurants, I second the mentions of both The Water Club: http://www.thewaterclub.com/ and River Cafe: http://www.rivercafe.com/ As far as proposal ideas: *Horse and carriage ride in Central Park *During dinner at your restaurant of choice *Also did you know that Rockefeller Center offers an Engagement on Ice package? It's in the article above (in the Things to Do in Manhattan Valentine's Day section): http://www.examiner.com/x-21128-Newark-Luxury-Travel-Examiner~y2009m10d9-Its-not-too-early-to-start-planning-your-2010-NYC-Valentines-Day-weekend GOOD LUCK!!
