Poetry, the food for the soul, has always been a medium for the expression of love. It is a lovely, old-fashioned gesture that is both sweet and sentimental, and will definitely delight your Valentine. But of course, not everybody is a poet and if you’re not feeling confident enough about your poetic abilities to write one yourself, this article will help. 6. She Walks in Beauty – George Gordon, Lord Byron Known for his passionate and daring love affairs as well as his flamboyant lifestyle, Lord Byron was the model for what we call the Byronic hero today. This is a poem any woman would find flattering if written for/dedicated to her!
7. Do not take from me your laughter – Pablo Neruda A poem that evokes every sentiment of love imaginable. Sincere, heart-stoppingly tender , nobody could read this poem and not feel the power of love to change lives and people forever.
8. We are made one with what we touch and see – Oscar Wilde Though most often celebrated for his dramatic comedies, this is a surprisingly tender poem describing love, and the oneness of lovers with the whole universe. The last line is particularly powerful!

10. Valentine – Carol Ann Duffy If you’re sick of the fluff of Valentine’s Day, this one is for you. It gets straight to the point, cutting to the heart of what love, and this day, is all about.
There are lots of love poems out there and with the internet, it’s easier and easier to find them. You need to find one that particularly suits your purposes, and your special relationship.
